Jax and the Gang are back for season 2 of Sons of Anarchy on FX starting 9/8.
I cannot wait for the show to start back up, I know SmokeyJoe is anticipating it as well.
Who else is excited?

Can't wait!
According to www.imdb.com, Henry Rollins will be part of the show for Season 2 - not sure what his role will be.
Been watching the first season all Summer - after the Season Finale "The Revelator," I can hardly wait to see the fireworks between Jax and Clay... plus the fallout from the fight with Tig. Wow!!! :tu

Can't wait. SOA, True Blood, and Weeds are the tops, IMO.
I tell you, this was way too long a break between seasons, but I'm sure we'll be rewarded for our wait.

On the trailer of FX's site their is a guy in a vest with duct tape on his mouth tied up, is that Tig? It kind of looked like him.

Paused the playback... not sure who it is, but Tig is the one who throws him to the ground. I think Opie kills the guy with a baseball bat!
One video makes it look like Opie's allegiance is siding with... CLAY!

I was so psyched for season one and am still trying to like this series.
I am hoping this next season will hook me like Dexter and the Sopranos did.
For some reason, I never really got into it, yet.
As far as violent motorcycle stuff, there has been a cool series called Gangland, which is actually a documentary showing 1%'ers like the Angels, and Outlaws.

Darrell was asking me what I thought about how SAMCRO might deal with Jax's knowing about Donna. The ads on the website show Jax saying to Clay, "Or what? You'll put a bullet in the back of MY head?"
Looks like they find some way to suppress it... at least to begin the season. You know it will have to boil over soon, though. They will be distracted by the white separatists initially, but it will have to fracture at some point.
They are making it sound like Opie will be siding with Clay - don't know if that is with or without the knowledge of what really happened with Donna.
They have some new videos up for Season 2 at the SOA website.

Yeah, initially the skin heads are going to be the center of attention. However, I think **** will hit the fan by the end of the season and they will leave us for a year waiting for season 3 to start.

Really? I must have missed something because I don't get that feeling at all. Opie and Jax are best buddies and Piney has to have told Opie what really went down.

Not sure Piney did tell him... Piney says to Jax, "I am depending on you to make this right." If Opie knew, he would probably just walk up and shoot Clay! Don't think Opie's character would let him wait and see what was going to unfold... would take matters into his own hands. I could see Piney and Jax protecting Opie from that.
Also, in one of the videos at the SOA site, they are talking about "shifting allegiances" in some surprising ways... then they have Opie saying (ostensibly) to Clay... "I'm with you, no matter what." (2:44 mark of the "Exclusive Season Preview") Even if Opie isn't siding with Clay, they seem to be wanting to hint at that possibility.
Kurt Sutter is a genius! :D

I think he was referring to Clay having Tig put a bullet in Donna's head thinking it was Opie. I do however think it could possibly be in reference to Jax's dad.

I think he was referring to Clay having Tig put a bullet in Donna's head thinking it was Opie. I do however think it could possibly be in reference to Jax's dad.
They have pretty well established that John Teller died several days after being hit by a truck. Now... he could be using the "bullet" in a generic sense - as if he was thinking about being taken out like we assume his father was...
But I don't think Jax has gone there yet... don't think he is questioning his dad's death - yet. Will probably happen by end of this season as a lead in to year 3. Sutter does make reference to the fact that Jax is "Hamlet" to Clay's "King Claudius."
I did find it interesting to find out that:
According to an interview with Kurt Sutter, the pilot episode was entirely shot with actor Scott Glenn in the role of Clay Morrow. After deciding to go in a different direction with the character, the role was re-cast with Ron Perlman and Clay's scenes were re-shot.

The Neo Nazi guys seem to be trying really hard to get into bed with Hale, based off the previews. It sounds like they want Hale to let them deal drugs in Charming and somehow run off SAMCRO?
I am interested in a little back story of the Neo Nazi "boss" in the suit. I hope Tig does shoot him. :D

Yeah, though he won't be anywhere near the ally that ole Chief Wayne Unser has been. I have a feeling that Unser is going to end up sticking around longer than the next 2 months. I cannot see them canning him, just yet.
Gemma is the Queen of SAMCRO and I think that Clay is going to send a big message after he finds out, I don't think that they will bother her again.

The thing with Jax protecting Opie has trouble written all over it.
I could see Opie feeling betrayed by Jax when he finds out the truth and still aligning with Clay... forgive Clay because he would sort of understand the "why" of it... he knows Clay is a ruthless bastard. But Jax? His best friend knowing the truth and keeping it from him - could be the direction Kurt Sutter takes it.
I agree... I can see Hale deciding better to deal with "the devil you know" than the Dirty White Boys.
Seems like Darby may resent these new guys as well.

I'm wondering--you know many sects see the raping of one of their women as making her untouchable/outcast--as if maybe she might think that Clay would dismiss her. I remember him telling her that he couldn't make it without her in this episode. I don't know. Maybe she has those kind of thoughts and wants to cover it up to keep that from happening? Just a thought.
Or maybe she wants it covered up to keep the club from entering into a certain Armageddon that would leave the club broken and Jax never able to take over?
Or maybe I'm just thinking too much--happens often..:r
Regardless--brilliant first episode

Good episode last night. Not quite as exciting as the Season 2 premier, but good.
I think we are in for some serious action next week.
You can def. see that Jax and Clay's bond is wearing thin. I agree that what Jax did to that Mayan was for the good of the club. If that "tag" Opie left on that dead Mayan had stayed than a war in charming would have been inevitable.
and the skin head boss is getting in bed with the Mayans. I don't think that is going to work out as well as both parties hope. Oh well. :D

I think Charming is gonna get a war regardless with the skin heads in town, cause you know somehow what happened to Gemma is gonna get out. Too many people know at least a little bit.
For some reason I see the assistant deputy cheif or whatever aligning with samcro with this problem the skin heads are starting.

Deputy Chief David Hale. :D
and I agree, I believe SmokeyJoe said it's easier to deal with the devil you know. I think it's going to be a rough alliance, but necessary. SAMCRO loves Charming and keeps it safe, Hale loves charming. They BOTH don't love smack, blow, etc. in Charming. :2

I think the skinheads will take it up a notch, maybe whack the nanny. I don't remember her geting much, if any time on screen last year, but she seems to be a more prominent secondary character this season... build up to her murder maybe?

Hale has been a straight shooter from day one.
He does not have to love SAMCRO, but he has to realize that as it was said before it's better to deal with the devil you know.
He has NO idea what those skin heads are capable of, they could back door him and screw his chance at being Chief -- if he's not careful. Who knows what kind of dirt they're gathering against him with this whole crank lab ordeal.

Yeah, he definitely knows it was no accident. This could be good though, now he knows that if he doesn't take care of the problems that SAMCRO will and he won't be able to let these things slide.

Gotcha! I can see them setting that up... feeling like his life is over anyway with the cancer battle. I think his cancer is further along than he is letting on. Spending a lot of time at the hospital and at the chapel. Wonder why we never get to see his wife, Della?

I'm intrigued by Piney's bold move in instigating the rescue. Something tells me his support is going to factor in later in this whole Jax vs Clay storyline.
Have I mentioned lately I love Gemma? Because I do. ( She also reminds me why I don't carry a gun. I hate it when people honk at me. :) ) Her last minute change of heart seems so out of character. Where is the fierceness from last season?
Not as explosive as previous episodes, but there seems to be a lot of character and plot building going on. I see big things coming.

I can see Unser passing and Hale thinking that HE is next in line for Chief [but due to his dirty dealing with the Skinheads] they end up bringing an outsider into Charming to be Chief.
Does the new Chief like SAMRCO? Does he hate SAMCRO? Does he like Hale?
So many questions....
As for this week. It was an awesome episode. It had all the great aspects of a fine story. I did not need [boom boom] and [pew pew] the writers did a top notch job on the story and thinks are def. getting interesting!

I think they played the Gemma "ridin' dirty" scene in the porto very well. She wants Weston dead, and was willing to take her chances. But hearing him on the phone with his kid pushed her mommy button and she couldn't do it. I think maybe they will write in a way for Clay or Jax to find out about the "incident" in a unique kind of way and Weston will get his.
Or not--so far the writers have continued to surprise me in just how twisted they can be. And I do like that. :D

If he doesn't pull through or even if he does, Isn't his daddy a member of a certain Irish faction that likes blowing things up ?

That would be a really cool twist.
Comment above about Darby not knowing what happened to Gemma, not to sure about that. He knows.

I didn't catch the final episode of Season 1 until last week. Comcast On Demand has Episode 4 5 and 6 -- I couldn't resist jumping in and watching Episode 4 (Eureka) -- now I'm caught in the middle. I cannot wait until this comes out on DVD.
Anyone got copies of the first 3 episodes??

Not sure I picked that up... Chibs is a Scottsman. He is not related to the Irish gun runners that I was able to discern. Did I miss something?

If I recall correctly when they were picking up the handguns from them to deliver, The episode with the bounty hunters and hotel jail break, The supplier mentions something to Chibs about his father or friends coming to the states.
I could be wrong as well. Maybe some more light will be shed on the subject tonight.

Either way Joe I am thinking they awoke the sleeping dragon setting the bomb off on Samcrow turf. Not to mention Jax is stuck in a pickle now trying to take time going up against these smucks.

I'm usually part of the first wave done because I do have FX, but I don't DVR. I try to wait, because I'll throw some spoilers out there and I don't want to catch the guys checking in to say "just sitting down to watch".
That being said...
WTF are the Irish doing with Zobelle?!?!? And it doesn't sound like a recent acquiantance. Holy double cross, batman!! Guess we know why the young one was checking out "all the noise" at the garage.
And how about Hale? I'm so proud. Putting the squeeze on that psycho-blonde. I feel like he's going to end up playing a pretty big part in the whole Jax Vs. Clay thing.
Gemma and Tara doing a little female bonding over handguns and ****stars. Freakin awesome!!!! :D I think things got real for Tara this week and I'm glad to see her step up to it instead of run from it. Hope she can hang in there.
Alright, I will say that as much as I hate Zobelle, he's a clever clever bastard. The whole bait and switch routine was freaking brilliant!! *golf clap* for the bad guys this week. I just hope it comes back to bite them in the ass next week.

Great episode! Zobelle knows exactly what they will do, and has been one step ahead of SAMCRO the whole time. This is obviously not his first rodeo.
Things will get very interesting in jail next week.

Holeee ****. What are the Irish doing in bed with Zobelle?
and Hale did a good job, I am proud of him as well.
I think Jax was smart to keep Clay from shooting Zobelle and Jax has been right all along about holding off on retaliating. He said if they went in "we are all going to jail".
I think Jail is going to be the driving factor in either dividing SAMCRO into factions, or them looking past their differences and moving ahead.
Great episode. Just great.

I think this small detail might be the one that gets SAMCRO out of jail. If you notice right before Clay took aim at Zobelle the camera panned over to the security camera which was catching the action.
Thoughts?

At worst in real life (which the show is obviously not) they could get a little time for possession of automatic weapons as felons. However, seeing as this is T.V. they will likely all just walk.

The Irish with Zobelle, business is business. The security camera is probably not going to show much other than SAMCRO rushing in on their little party, the League may try to use that against them.
Anyone else hear the line "not again!" as SAMCRO raided the party? I do not have DVR to go back and play it again, but could have sworn I heard that.

I don't know, they've been talking about the ATF being on them like white on rice every episode this season. Getting busted with all that firepower ought to be more than a slap on the wrist. Especially if they start talking about RICO charges again... Maybe the bulk of this season plays out in prison?

No honor among thieves right? The Irish are lookin' out for themselves. Zobelle's got the upper hand, more money, and fewer problems and they know it.
Did y'all catch the last clip in the previews where it looks like Clay and Jax about to fight it out in a cell? Clay's likely going to say they wouldn't be in jail if Jax and Hale didn't call in the sheriffs, but Jax will say they wouldn't be in jail if Clay let the sheriffs bring in Zobelle.

finally caught up so I can participate in this thread. I'm loving the show but I actually was a little disappointed in the whole going to jail thing. One of the things I like about the show is that for the most part these guys are smart and that was just stupid. More because they were just getting played/set up by Zobelle than that they just went ahead to get revenge in a reckless way. I am looking forward to the battle in the prison both between sam crow and the ab and clay and jax. The preview had a ultimate fighting kind of feel to it. As for the reality of going to jail for a long time or not for running around with illegal weapons I'll just let suspension of disbelief cover whatever interesting way they use to get them out of trouble.
