original release was $225 per box/bundle of 25. i believe these will be right around the same, but dont hold me to that. shipping charge is 11$

The store is R.Fields Wine Co. and I believe some are located/affiliated with(in) Foodland supermarkets.

According to Pete, Same exact cigar, just a little "Fresher".

Price was 225 + 11.05 shipping.

Brief summary of some conversation with Marvin. He's not shipping orders until after the holidays (my attempt at being PC) so that nothing gets lost in the mail. Also...Pete was predicting that the 190 box release could actually sell out in 2 days.

11/13 2:17AM End of Day 2: 98 boxes reserved. Thanks for all your support!

It usually takes a little over a day to get a reply form Marvin.

This was already posted on another board and a lot of guys already jumped on.

The Porkchop is also getting re released or that was what I thought Pete said.

It is taking more than 2 days for these to get spoken four. I think its day 4 now since the rumor got out. They will be gone shortly though. No I am not affiliated with Marvin or Pete in any way so dont ask me specifics. I didnt post this sooner as the Drac flack was a nightmare and figured this would generate the same.

All that aside this is my favorite Tat. Pepper spice bomb. If you are on the fence I would say take the gamble

I am pretty sure what that means is that if those of us on the list cant produce the cash when requested those of you on the wait list will get a shot. I am definetly getting a box as well a matt at west coast.

Yeh I finally talked to Marvin last week.

It appears these have been rolled three times, all the same blend. I guess they had enough tobacco for 200+ boxes but only rolled 40 boxes or so the first time around (I think in June/July).

Then another 35-40 boxes were rolled around August that became Marvin's secret stash.

The remaining 160 boxes were just starting to arrive when I talked to him last week.

I guess Pete is considering launching more sizes in this brand, but the T110 size will be reserved for Marvin.

sboyajian
12-27-2009, 07:52 PM
The original order was for 400 boxes, however they only had enough tobacco at the time to do 200. Marvin received and sold those 200 back in July.

He received 40 more last month (November) and the final 190 this month with shipping set for January. (Pete kept the other 10 boxes).

The cigars were rolled in two batches only. The dates you see are shipping dates. We still have 36 empty boxes and enough cigars to fill them from the second batch sitting in Nicaragua but no bands. So we are packing them in foil paper without bands. I think Marvin will be keeping these for his local Hawaii clients.

Don't say that because I look at this stick as being unattainable and hearing things like this make me want to go on a mission.

Those look like the August roll (shipped November) and the September roll (shipped January) side by side. If you place either next to the April roll/July release...there's no comparison. The original release wrappers are oily and shiny. If the stick on the left is original, then the difference just can't really be seen well in these pics.

The stick on the left I received at the end of July. The one on the right I just received from another BOTL, so it may be the 1st release, but he was getting a box from the 2nd release, so I'm pretty certain these are from different releases. I can check my other sticks, but I think they are all pretty similar. There probably is some box variation, so I just got sticks that look very similar.

Robert Mabona
01-23-2010, 01:52 AM
box variation? every cigar from every box i've smoked from has varied from the last to the next. even after a box has homogenized for 10 years the individual sticks are each different.
if the two cigars shown above are from different runs, then they are a testament to an ability to acquire, maintain and release consistent tobacco. those cigars look like they could've come from the same box.

+1. They don't look too different and to see variations from the same box is not abnormal. Hell, I just picked up two Flying Pigs that came from the same box and if you look at the two side by side you can clearly see a big difference in the color of the wrapper. Spotted it at the shop and didn't stress it. They'll both die the same. :D

Smoked my first one of these today - I was a little worried they were going to be too heavy in the flavor profile for me, but was pleasantly surprised. Besides a 10 minute hiccup attack in the middle, a very good cigar. I am looking forward to smoking these after they rest a couple of years.

Not the strongest cigar I have smoked, but in the top 5. I was definitely feeling the nicotine when I was done. I am glad I had a good sized meal before this one.

neoflex
02-01-2010, 07:41 AM
You may be different from me but the hiccups could have been from the nicotine. Has not happened in a while but I used to always get a case of hiccups when smoking cigars with a high noc level.

I think it was from the nicotine. This seems to happen from time to time and it is not your regular hiccups. Unfortunately I was outside and did not bring anything to drink with me, so I think they lasted longer than normal. :td :r
