Re: Latest Pipe-Related Purchase Thread

My first pipe landed here yesterday; a Meer by Fikri Baki.

Meer because it's forgiving and I'm new at it, plus little ghosting until the stable fills with alternatives. Watching you all, I know it will... ; ' ) I chose Baki because everyone seems to agree that they're good quality, so I don't expect any behavioral issues.

ST. GOTTHARD

Also grabbed a tin of McConnell's Scottish Flake (smokes nice), and something the fellow behind the counter liked (ok, Walnut, but its a decent enough blend from what I can tell at this point!).

Nice pipe Troy. Love Italian pipes. My local JR is having a pipe sale on February 20th (national pipe day) and they have a bunch of Mastro de Paja's that I will probably pickup.

Just ordered my first Boswell along with some Northwoods and Christmas Cookie! It's pretty similar to this pipe, but the color will be a little lighter and mine will have a yellowish stem.

So, here's my new Boswell. Unfortunately this is the best picture I could take, only have my phone... It's much lighter than it shows in the picture, have one bowl through it so far!

Well, forgot to take pics before I stash my recent order away ( speed was the name of the game, I flew this one under the radar from the oldlady...)

Peterson Bulldog Kapet (150)
http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/1...0297388.th.jpg
For a shade under 50$...Smoked a few bowls in it so far and it's a good pipe. Actually planning on buying another from the series. I have a few with the silver band, and I honestly feel that the 25$ price difference may only be from the silver band.

Baccys-
Christmas Cheer 2009 x 2
Telegraph Hill 2oz
Union Square 2oz
Chelsea Morning 2oz
Escudo Navy Deluxe x2
Blackwoods Flake 50g
Matured Virginia No. 25
Also, snagged two cheap-o lighters and few packs of cleaners.

Couple new blends to try out, Telegraph Hill will be a revisit. Got another order inbound of some more cellar worthy tins and a couple lbs of bulk...:tu

been a couple years since i've ordered tobacco.... but this is what i just clicked the "buy" button on.

Pipe Accessories: Rubber Pipe Bit (2 pack) (3)
Cleaning Supplies: Regular Tapered Pipe Cleaners (100/pack) (5)
G. L. Pease: Fillmore 8oz
Gawith Hoggarth & Co.: Dark Flake Scented (1oz)
Gawith Hoggarth & Co.: Bosun Cut Plug Unscented (1oz)
Gawith Hoggarth & Co.: Dark Bird's Eye (1oz)
Gawith Hoggarth & Co.: Curley Cut Delux Sliced (1oz)
Gawith Hoggarth & Co.: Coniston Cut Plug Unscented (1oz)
Gawith Hoggarth & Co.: Louisiana Perique Flake (1oz)
McClelland: 5100 - Red Cake (8oz)

although smokingpipes has escudo in stock right now (they didn't a couple days ago), i can get some later if i need to...
would've added a few other blends, but they were out of stock of a few GH blends i wanted to sample, and some SG blends i intended to buy about a pound of (Bracken Flake, for one). they have almost nothing of SG right now.

I had a little financial windfall this month and went a little PAD happy...I think I bought five pipes since St. Patrick's Day, and I have a few more I want coming up on ebay...

Peterson Deluxe Classic 221 (bent billiard)
Peterson St. Patrick's Day 2010 B30
Stanwell Matte Brown Blowfish
Mario Grandi Freehand (sort of a partially rusticated blowfish)
Savinella Sigla (new smaller autograph line...hand-made bent billiard)

...and I've got a bid in on a vintage Kaywoodie that I hope to win...whew...I better slow down... pictures to follow...

Got this on ebay...never expected it to be as huge as it is...the main body of the pipe is about as large as a tennis ball, the chamber is so deep that if I stick my first finger in it it goes to the second knuckle and it's far too heavy to clench in your teeth...this is a hand-holder...and with that deep chamber will be great for flakes...

My first straight pipe and it's a Kaywoodie...all of my pipes are bents...generally I don't like straights...I was, however, perusing the ebay Kaywoodie listings and spotted this little number...octagon-shaped billiard...unsmoked too...the pipe is Kaywoodie shape number 44 “Octagon Apple”...it had the original $15.00 price sticker on the stem...the seller says he thinks the shape and price correspond to that of the 1968-69 Kaywoodie catalog...

Attachment 5857 This is the one from the bay. I will post a good pic this weekend. This is my 5th pipe I have tried to clean up so I am still new at the refurbishing thing. This one will be a good challenge. The outside does not seem too bad it is just the bowl and the mouth piece.
