I was more upset with the calls on the ice than anything else, that too many men non-call when the extra man actually played the puck with his stick was enough to cost a lesser man his remote. Until Rask does something other than choke in the playoffs, he's dead to me, I'm going old school Jazz Singer on him, not Al Jolson...not that old school, Larry Olivier and Niel Diamond old school. |

I love all those make-a-wish things, one of my favorite charities ever, always get a bit misty reading them and seeing the little kids though, you know how it is, no one said life is fair but little kids shouldn't get those illnesses.

Well in that case it was the organization that was the best. That being said can't watch stuff like that, at least not at work, gets too misty in here, i think it's dust from the new ceiling tiles or something

Love the Bruins aren't sitting back during this Flyers game, they are giving as good as they are getting. Didn't realize the core of their young D, 4 of the players have less than 100 NHL games played, wow they play like seasoned vets.
Should be a great rematch Saturday in Boston. |

I watched the game, Mike, Nyquist is a stud. I don't think the Wings will do much in the postseason this year, but the future looks bright with him, Tatar, Jurco, Helm and other kids up front.

Been to the last two Hawks games, both wins. I think the team should give me season tickets, I was at all 4 playoff-clinching games in 2013.

 Re: NHL '13-'14 Season Thread

Great two games between Bruins and Flyers. though I am far from a Flyers fan that is a team any team with cup aspirations should fear to meet in the play-offs.
Not that you winners care much but If you haven't noticed the Isles have actually looked pretty good considering they are w/o Tavares, Okposo, Grabner, vanek/moulson...they played like 10 rookies in last nights loss. yes, I know it was 4-0 but 5 on 5 we were right in there and playing well. Garth get us a 1 and 2 goalie or GTFO!!!! |

 Re: NHL '13-'14 Season Thread

If the Avs can win tonight, the Avs are within 2 points of the Blues(same # of games played) with 3 to go.
Blues having trouble putting the puck in the net. 5 goals in 5 games. |

 Re: NHL '13-'14 Season Thread

Nice win by the Avs :tu if I heard it correctly, the Avs are the best road team in the NHL and 35-0-2 when leading the game going into the 3rd period. Only 2 points from the Blues :noon

 Re: NHL '13-'14 Season Thread

Wings need only 1 point to clinch a playoff spot for their 23rd year in a row. I hope they can get at least that 1 point against the Pens tonight. The game tonight is likely a preview of round 1 should everyone stay in the same seeds in the east.

Way to go Minny! Now Avs just have to win....and keep winning, their positioning is in their hands now. (Though tied, getting outplayed in Vancouver)

Yep, Don....that was ugly. Though I was feeling pretty good at the 2nd intermission...the 3rd was not pretty.
Need the Ducks to lose to the Kings tonight. They then have about 20 hours getting off the ice, to back on against the Avs Sunday. |

 Re: NHL '13-'14 Season Thread

Hoping for the Avs to win tomorrow. Blues are banged up right now with Backes, Oshie, Bergland, Morrow and Roy all day-to-day, and Terasenko out. Add Miller's awful goaltending lately, the Blues not getting a single point in their last 5, and it might be a perfect time for Chicago to play them. :r

 Re: NHL '13-'14 Season Thread

So I think the outcome of the whole shebang depends on how these blokes perform:
Tuka Sid the kid King Hendrik (always fades come playoffs) Jonathan Quick Chicago D-men Carey Price The Kings playing their own game Mostly the goalies make or break you. (Ask the Jets) |

Not so sure about the Sharks since they have a propensity to choke in the playoffs. :D |

 Re: NHL '13-'14 Season Thread

I think Fleury is a bigger factor for the playoffs than Sid, and I think he will sh!t his goalie pants by Round 2 again.
Quick is proven, the Kings will win the Jennings. I think secondary scoring will be their biggest unknown. Agreed on the Hawks D-men, the Blues' game plan will be to dump and hit. Can Keith, Hjallmarsson, Leddy and Oduya take the beatings for 6-7 games? Big question, that and the health of Toews and Kane. Ask Adam about Rask, his Bruins fan opinion is always entertaining.... :D |
