Re: firefighters?

I've been a volunteer fireman for 11 years, a career advanced EMT for 9, and a lowly reserve deputy sheriff for the past 4 years.

I work part time for an emergency vehicle upfitter also. A friend of mine owns the business, he's been building vehicles for about 15 years. Last year we ended up being the 3rd largest 911EP distributor in the US, and the 4th in the world. We built about 100 squad cars and a couple dozen various fire and EMS support vehicles.

Needless to say.... I'm busy like hell.

Re: firefighters?

Ever hear of Havis-Shields??

Nabinger16 03-23-2009 08:40 PM

Re: firefighters?

Yep, we're a Havis dealer. You build for Havis?

dubnick 03-23-2009 08:44 PM

Re: firefighters?

Sure do. Going on two years. Love it there.

Nabinger16 03-23-2009 08:57 PM

Re: firefighters?

That's cool. I didn't know Havis actually built vehicles until about 3 days ago. I thought they only manufactured products. We use a lot of their stuff, pretty much everything except the CV console. The boss man designed his own and has it produced locally.

I love the K9 systems. Way easier to install compared to most of the other systems I've come across.

Re: firefighters?

Good to hear. They just added a new section to the website featuring the cars we build.

Re: firefighters?

I was in EMS for 15 years as an EMT and then a Paramedic. Now I dispatch Fire, Police & EMS. I prefer sitting in my chair dispatching over breaking my back carrying someone down the stairs.

What are the 3 most important letters in EMS?

ABC = Ambulate Before Carry

I was a volunteer FF for about 20 years. Now I am an EMT on a 911 ambulance, and also FF1 certified.

Re: firefighters?

Not a FF but a LEO. We have many public services on the asylum.

dubnick 03-24-2009 04:30 PM

Re: firefighters?

We should create a public servant group/ banner for our signatures. Anyone interested??

MedicCook 03-24-2009 04:31 PM

Re: firefighters?

I'm not a firefighter per se, would like to include EMS in the banner if we could.
