It's fake, but Auction Hunters is way worse. Those clowns pull in a gun every show in the handful I watched and their whole selling process for their "treasures" were clearly staged.

Have to admit I'm still a sucker for the granddaddy of reality shows, Cops.

As for Dave Hester, he played along with the deception as long as it suited his pocketbook. Just another guy looking for a big payday in a lawsuit.
