I grew up in DC, and he played with the Bullets when I was a kid. We got a Manute Bol growth poster that my brother and I used to chart how tall we were getting. In a wierd sense, he was a real piece of my childhood. RIP Manute...

Even if he had never been a famous athlete, I respect him as a man for all he tried to do for his homeland after his career.
