Re: Traeger or ?

Of course they do. Too bad some are way more informed than others, shame when one who has NEVER driven a Maybach, for example, thinks his "opinion" that Toyota Avalon, a car he does have, is somehow...

Re: Buffalo Trace or Eagle Rare

Eagle Rare IS Buffalo Trace. Just a part of their limited collection, not as limited as Stagg, of course, but part of that same family. Its a step up from the "regular" Buffalo Trace bottling and has...

Re: Acquiring rare Bourbons - Any tips?

Just curious, what chemical process do you think does that?

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Most of what is known as "Bourbon" and what made Prohibition news was rye mash bills. Wheated mash bills were very few and in between, in general, although sales of Van Winkle for decades suffered...

Re: Traeger or ?

When it comes to pellet smokers/grills there is really no other choice than one between Rec-Tec and Yoder. The only "knock" on Rec-Tec is that save for the electronics its made in China (and so is...

Re: The Wine Thread

Lance, temp variation issues are overplayed, IMO. Wines are more than sturdy when aging. I do not recommend allowing them to go through wild temp swings, but even daily up and down swings of a few...

Re: The Wine Thread

You're preaching to the choir here, Moses. I was lambasted by the self appointed experts, both consumers and pros, when I pointed out that it is the acidity and not tannin that preserves wine after...

Re: The Wine Thread

Too bad all the so called "professionals" keep telling people its the red wines that age better and longer. In fact, whites age way better and are more affordable to boot (Chenin Blanc, Riesling,...

Re: Undercrown now shipping!!

Good cigar, IMO, complex and smooth. Not as strong as LPs. This was the 60 ring gauge, not my cup of tea, but a very good cigar nonetheless. Will try to find some Robustos now that I know what I am...

Re: The Wine Thread

Moses, this is funny. About 2 years ago, one in the group, fit 6"6 frame and all, winemaker as well, was screaming at the rest of us for having way too many bottles to taste through and hw he just...

Re: The Wine Thread

Hmmm... Easy pickings, my friend :D I've been running wine tastings since late '90s, a good number a year, and I can recall most of them, bottles wise as well, up to 30+ bottles at times.

Wine is...

Re: The Wine Thread

Lance, I can name ALL the wines we consumed that day and the order we drank them in. The herf was back in April, IIRC? :D

Re: The Wine Thread

Their high end for some time now. In Bay Area its all over the place, not sure how much of it makes it out of Bay Area, but then you can say that about many other CA wines. CA wine selection on the...

Re: J! E! T! S! Jets! Jets! Jets!

Have no idea if you ever watched Ken O'Brien back in the day. He was knocked senseless pretty often due to front line not giving him protection, much worse protection Sanchez is getting these days on...

Re: J! E! T! S! Jets! Jets! Jets!

No, I did not smile, even ONCE, last night. Have no idea what's with your POV on this, you still insist that any fan noticing OBVIOUS PROBLEMS, is not a fan. WHATEVER. I am a realist, I guess you're...

Re: J! E! T! S! Jets! Jets! Jets!

Haven't you heard, Sanchez is the bestest!!! EVER!!! Don't you dare even think he is not!!! Superbowl, I tell you, nothing but... A QB who cannot hold the frigging ball from snap nor catch one (this...

Re: J! E! T! S! Jets! Jets! Jets!

No matter how they play? I only see ONE KIND of play from them, getting lucky instead of dictating play, care to name another way?

Seems I am not the only one harping on Sanchez, reporters/sports...

Re: J! E! T! S! Jets! Jets! Jets!

Sanchez is still the reason Jets is not a SuperBowl team and won't be until heis replaced. I could have connected on a number of passes last night and I am a soccer player. When you have a 6"6...

Re: Wristwatch collectors out there?

Spoke with the owner of the company a couple of years ago at the annual Vegas show, sounds like all Invictas are Swiss made.

Been buying them for a long time now, they take abuse like no other...

Re: The Wine Thread

You're comparing two very different vintages. 1995 was by far among the best in the past I have no idea how many years, similar to 2001 and 2005. 1993 was, well, similar to 1998 and 2008 (very bad...

Re: Turkish Coffee Drinkers?

Why not just buy a manual Turkish coffee grinder? If it does the job for them I am sure it'll do just fine. Much cheaper and available online.
