Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

I’ve settled on WT101 for an affordable option, but I also think Old Fitzgerald for $22-25 a bottle is worth trying.

Re: Meer Score

Nice find, Mark. Enjoy!

I’ve picked up/inherited a couple meers and they smoke well, but I don’t choose them very often. Not sure why.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Not sure I’ve tried the ‘new’ SiB Bakers, Bob. Interested to hear what you think. The ‘old’ small batch bottles were generally great, imo.

Stood around in the cold this morning waiting to spin the...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Ben stopped by to enjoy some winter sunshine Saturday. Pours, cigars, bs, etc. eclipsed by the company.

Re: Whats in your bowl?

Will do, Mark. They went on sale at a few of the regular shops & quickly got scarce. Would have liked one or two more myself & wish I jumped quicker on the last Morgan Bones restock.

Smoking some...

Re: Restoring a Grabow

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Msrp climbed a bit on King Ranch! I’m not going to chase it, but seems to have hit TX in the last couple day or so.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!

Hope you enjoy, my friend! Hard to go wrong with 8yr 21% rye MGP at barrel proof. I noticed a good bit more wood on this vs the 7yr. My bottle seemed to open up after a bit of air.

Re: Lacto-Fermentation

I haven’t tried anything else yet, but these ball kits work well for me. I will have to try the bags if I go for fermenting a mash down the road. Your Serrano sauces sound great!

Re: Lacto-Fermentation

Picked the last of my Caribbean red hab’s today and started a batch of habanero carrot sauce. I added a couple yellow jalapeños for good measure!

Re: Lacto-Fermentation

My first batch of chilies and garlic bubbled for nearly 2 months in approx 4% brine. Garlic still had a bit to go, but the chilies were ready. Spicy, tangy, hot! A bit of kham showed up, so I called...

Tasty stuff, Ben! Thanks again! Tried on a burger one night, ramen the next day, & fried rice another night. All really good! Hope your house has aired out a little :D
