When I turn on my older Sharp...it sometimes has a white line all the way across the top. I shut it off and turn it back on...all better.
It infrequent but happens.
It's old enough now where...

I wipe it down with water and light bleach mix (very light - as if cleaning a new cooler).
The case and the top ....then with a damp wet (no bleach) cloth and let air dry.
Also - are you using...

I was thinking water spots...but those shoudl be white-ish.
When there's water on the leaf and they cure..that's what you get.
I've seen this before, but very localized.
Possible poor curing..or...

Best to GHOST he image to the new machine...update the drivers as nessacary....and then update to Win 7.
But that may not work for all the effort.
It's really best to go with a clean install of...
