Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
I just picked up (I have got to stop convincing myself to buy stuff, hah) Bulleit Rye 95 for my first Rye. Not bad. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I was expecting it to be a little...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
I just don't have the money to buy bottles anymore. I really had to convince myself to buy that Bulleit, haha. I drink way more beer (homebrew :) ), just have small pours of bourbon here and there....

Yea WSR > Jim Beam for sure. They are usually the same price. I've been wanting to try the small batch FR forever. Single Barrel is excellent IMO.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
I heard it was fairly spicy, but I didn't really get that. The more intense flavor is the more I like it, with anything.

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Finally picked up some Bulleit bourbon. Pretty nice. I was hoping for a little more to it. Fairly mellow, but the flavors that are there are pretty nice. Maybe I've just been drinking too much Weller...

Re: What beers are you enjoying?
I had 2010 Black Ops fresh, and 1 yr old. Much better fresh IMO. Yes it was quite warm (very hot to some..) but with a beer like that I think it goes well. I expected it to improve greatly, but it...

Re: What beers are you enjoying?

Re: beer hauls
Yea, but us homebrewers don't have the cost of running a brewery, taxes, packaging, shipping, distribution, etc, etc. While I love trying new beer, I can't afford to buy commercial beer much, which...

Re: The Bourbon Thread!!
Weller Antique 107 comes to mind. If BT is about $23, the WA107 should be about $20. If you run across Weller 12 yr, get it. It's only $22 around here when it comes out.

Re: Booze and Cigars?
Maybe try sipping on a strong/high gravity ale through the cigar, I'm talking over 10% abv. It has plenty of residual sugar still in the beer that didn't get fermented out. I usually drink beer with...

Re: beer hauls
You all do realize the higher the alcohol the more malt is needed (for the beers we are talking about)? The hoppier the beer, the more hops used. The cost adds up. Then consider the cost of...
