I was looking at the XDs and Shield 9mm, I ended up with the Shield

The shield is nice if you have small to normal sized hands. If you have large hands you might find the grip to be a little small...

I love my S&W Shield (9mm)! I have fairly large hands, I always shoot using the extended mag and I picked up a pachmayr grip glove which helped a lot.
