Re: Show your latest NC purchase III!

The Untamed is quite a beast. Very full-flavored. I hate the American-aimed packaging (I think it's tacky) but the robust, dark intensity of the flavors sold me. Try it for sure.

The unmarked are little Tatuajes and the tin is little La Gloria Rs

Been away for awhile, so this is a good way to show a few things I've been trying or buying:
- Viaje Cache
- Tatuaje Petite Cazadores
- Ashton...

Re: Liga Privada #9 vs Genesis The Project

Yup to the Genesis. Best value ever. Rich, dense stick. And they do age well. Only smoked 2 #9s, so can't really comment but I did wonder if they had gotten kind of flat from being hoarded too long.

Re: Lancero Vitola

Contrary to American trends, I love the lancero/panatela vitola. They provide a long, slow smoke. As to being plugged, my experience is that this is rare. They are, however, harder to find and tend...

Re: What is your favorite $5 or under daily smoke and why?

I'm loving those little Cariocas (CAO Brazilias, like above.) Great with coffee in the morning before work.

Re: Cigars got 'cooked'

Thanks for the support, everyone. I ran through the Cuba and UPS thoughts myself, but appreciate the reassurance. The humidity was fine, but you could definitely tell the flavor had changed. It'll...

Cigars got 'cooked'

Quick post about a recent problem.

A recent mini heat wave sent my humidor into ungodly temperatures, like 80-90 degrees. Anyone experience this? Will they recover with some time? Or are all my...

Re: Is there a fix for a tcrack in the wrapper?

The acacia (gum Arabic) is definitely the way to go. It's what is actually used on cigars. You can even use a finger. I keep a little glass bottle mixed up on the shelf. Put a little on, let it dry...

Re: Black Pearl Original Perfecto

Yeah, there was talk about the Maduros doing that. I didn't notice anything like it, but will keep an eye out on the next one.

Re: What is your favorite $5 or under daily smoke and why?

I have to second the Illusione Rothchilde. I think the Gran Habano Corojo #5 is worth a look, and I too enjoy the Papas Fritas (but not all the time.) I haven't smoked them for years, but I do...

Re: H. Upmann 1844 Reserve Toro Review

Yeah, this is the reblend, I believe. I liked how they kept a classic profile, but updated it to more contemporary taste. I tried the corona, so not sure how that differs.

Re: La Plata Cigar shirt

Yeah, someone mentioned that. Haven't seen the new incarnation. The original was a DT institution, before DTLA was hipster central.

La Plata Cigar shirt

Didn't know where to post this: it's not really cigar discussion, or an accessory, but really just a piece of cigar nostalgia. Anyway, here's a picture of a much-used shirt that the (closed) La Plata...

Re: Colibri... kind of a let down

I have to second (or third or fourth) this. And I'm stupid enough to have bought a number of Colibri lighters. I would just spot a model that looked nice and throw it on the counter. Then, once I...

Nice review! Was curious about these, but never got around to trying them. Seems I must correct that.

JdN Antaņo Dark Corojo

First try of this. Prelight was exciting: dark dried fruit note. Then.. I must have missed something. People like these, I know. I tasted some wood (oak?) maybe chocolate and some sweetness. Other...
