58% is not terminal,in fact if your temp was in the 75-80 degree range it should be ok.

I toast the foot and then smoke,I try not to draw while a flame is on the foot.Doing so can overheat the cigar and make it bitter....

It's the wrapper.The ratio of wrapper to filler is greater in a smaller stick.also the makers use less of the neutral leaf that is needed to make a larger cigar.
