Re: What beers are you enjoying?

I got curious and opened a bottle of Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout, and wish I hadn't. It's excellent, but IMO more of a nightcap to be shared with friends. There's no way I'm...

Re: What beers are you enjoying?

Living in CA as you do, be sure to seek out Sierra Nevada (from Chico), and Stone (from San Diego). Both are exemplary breweries and should both be easy for you to find.

Re: Homebrewers - Whats in the fermeter?

My porter seems to be chugging away nicely tonight. The OG came in a bit high at 1.088. My temp went a little high when I did my mini-mash, so I think that caused my OG to run a little high as...

Re: Need Music Help - Rock Bands That Play With Orchestras?

This is a great thread. Thanks for everyone's contributions. I'm brewing beer tonight and am checking out various songs on Rhapsody during my breaks. Very enjoyable.

Re: Homebrewers - Whats in the fermeter?

I've got some water warming up right now for a partial mash "big" vanilla porter I'm making. Drinking some Surly Cynic Ale and listening to the Brian Setzer Orchestra.

Re: Need Music Help - Rock Bands That Play With Orchestras?

I believe you mean the song "Jump Jive & Wail." The phrase "drunk driving" is a mispronunciation of the lyrics. The album is called "The Dirty Boogie." I'm listening to it now. Excellent.

Re: Need Music Help - Rock Bands That Play With Orchestras?

TSO - there's a band that I haven't even thought of in a long time.

What about "Yes", back in the Rick Wakeman days? Did they play with an orchestra or symphony?

This is great. I'm going to...

Thanks guys, keep them coming...

For those of you who are old enough to care, Annie Haslam is still among us, still sings, and lives in the general Philly area in PA.

Need Music Help - Rock Bands That Play With Orchestras?

A long time ago I used to listen to both Renaissance and the Moody Blues, because I really enjoyed the complexity of the music. They are both rock bands that oftentimes played with orchestras. And...

Re: Breaking Favre News

IMO that's really a poor evaluation of the situation, unless of course it's meant as tongue in cheek humor. :)

There's no way those three went to Hattiesburg to beg Farve to return. It was all a...

No question he is one of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game, and is lightyears better than T-Jack and Rosenfelds. So to that extent, happy. But I have my doubts about his health this year....

Re: What beers are you enjoying?

I'm drinking the new Summit Unchained #4 Belgian Golden Ale. Very good. Perhaps a little too sweet, but there are enough hops to keep it pretty well balanced. IMO Summit deserves more love than...
