When I wish someone a Merry Christmas, or a Happy Hanukkah, or Happy Holidays, or whatever, the thought I'm really conveying is that you're someone I care about, and I sincerely wish you the best life can offer.
I guess maybe I'm fortunate. The people I come in contact with all seem to understand this.
