I don't smoke a lot of maduros, but when it comes to Padron, the darker the better. I hope you don't give up on these. The maduro wrappers really are much better and many here including myself, love them dearly. I would recommend trying the Londres next. This one is the tastiest of the regular line in my opinion.
and yes, Padrons are notoriously ugly, but they kinda get a pass because they're so damn good.
