Drinks on the house!

OK, I'm sitting in a bar right now drinking a beer. As sometimes happens, the bartender or one of the servers breaks a glass. I have been jokingly saying "Drinks on the house!" every time this happens. It never works. Always gets a laugh from everybody but the bartender.
Maybe if everybody started saying this they would really start doing it. Win-win. It would stop them from breaking glassware and get people free drinks!
For some reason I am having a hard time typing this.

I think you're on to something here...

If I still went to bars I would adopt this concept immediately.

If you drop your drink and break your glass, does the same rule apply?
