Guatemala Maragogype -- big luscious beans. Soft, medium bodied and bright, but not quite as bright as other Guats. Lots of chocolate. Easy drinking... time for a refill!

Panama Esmeralda Gesha Lot 10. I had to see what all the fuss was about, so I picked up a pound from SM. Last night I roasted a quarter lb to City+ and let it sit overnight. Press pot this morning. The fresh grounds have a distinctly floral fragrance -- chocolate and flowers, yum. The brew is vibrant, hits lots of high notes, is quite acidic but also has a nice body/mouth feel to it. The base flavor is tea-like with a chocolatey finish, and in the upper register citric notes. The aroma is a little less fragrant than I expected, but still quite nice. This reminds me a little of last year's "Man or Mouse" Yirg, but a little more operatic.
