Messed up my Bic disposable?

Hey guys -

I used that trick to increase the butane flow on my lighter, so the flame is a little bigger; popped the metal off, move the switch to +, raise it, and back to -.

However, now it only works with a big flame on the lower (-) setting - whenever I have it set to +, it just sparks. I've tried it with and without the metal piece snapped back on.

Anyone know what I did wrong, and how I can either fix it, or prevent it from happening again next time? It's only a generic, so I'm not too upset, but I use it primarily for pipes, so the bigger flame helps.

just trash it. some times you get worp the inside and its no good after that

Lol everyone seems to think I'm gonna hurt myself I'll just need to remember to hold it higher when I light. It's still full, so I'm not gonna toss it.

Least my tobacco will get a quick burst of heat, make an even toast of the bowl...
