Flag Football on Thanksgiving Morning

So my daughter informed me that I will be playing flag football on Thanksgiving morning with a bunch of her friends. This will be all girls (20+ year olds) playing with one guy on each team as quarterback. Sounds like fun huh?

Here is the deal: The last time I played football was in 1978. I was playing for an Army team against the Marines. When I got to the hospital there were 13 players there from that game. I managed on one play to tear my trianglar cartilage, pull the tendons in my left arm and break my wrist in 3 places. I haven't touched a football since then. Just imagine how this is going to go.

Sooo - if you don't hear from me after Thanksgiving it means that I either a) I grabbed a wrong umm body part instead of a flag, or b) my lungs gave out while trying to play football and smoke a cigar at the same time.

Either way it should be worth it -

Good luck, Ron!

I play men's league ice hockey several nights a week, so you would figure it might translate somehow to flag football. Nah. Played in a game two years ago, my first in many years, on a wet field. Took 9 plays to tear my hamstring....not me, Brudda.

um...if you would rather a strapping young lad like myself take your place with those 20+ year old girls just let me know brother! (I'll have to keep it quite from the wife though!!!) I am pretty close, in Woodbridge.

Good luck man, I'm sure you will do great. Just remember you only have to be better than one person...the guy on the other team

A football game is bound to break out at some point next weekend at the Arnold house. Just kind of always happens at thanksgiving.
