| Just in from the Storm | Fire Pits

Wanting to build my own fire pit from Stone, Brick, etc...or purchase a fire pit somewhere. I have a smaller patio but looking for ideas. I don't want a gas fire pit, would prefer wood burning.

I put one in my back yard last December. Bought a stone kit at lowes which was about 250 then purchased pavers from there to make a square around the pit and a walkway to my back patio steps. Total cost for fire pit kit, pavers, gravel and sand was around 800 bucks and took me a weekend to do. I am in no way a handy person but with a few buddies, some beer, and somewhat of a plan we made it work. I will try and get a picture up tomorrow to give you an idea.

We dug out a firepit, lined it with some brick that someone was getting rid of. Then, we laid flagstone around it. My son and I spent some time around the firepit last night, actually. I'll have to find a picture to give you an idea. The pit is about 4 feet in diameter, which is just a little too small if you are going to be throwing pallets on it

That is my plan when I get out of the military, but right now I move every couple years so I needed something I can bring with me. When I was growing up we would always have fires that were 5+ feet in diameter. Here in Colorado I wont have one that big due to all the recent wildfires.
