| Life is for living | RIP Neil Peart

Damn, that sucks. Brain cancer got him at 67. Just an incredible musician.

Shocked when I saw the reports flooding my FB feed. Rush was my first real rock band. Grew up with them. Neil was the catalyst for a lot of the drummers/music I listen to know. The rock world truly lost a legend.

One of the very best. I was lucky enough to see them a few times back in the day, including front row on 5/28/78 in East Troy, Wisconsin. R.I.P., Mr. Peart.

Tough one, such an amazing lyricist as well as drummer. Happy a funny / sad thought, I bet he didn't even get his "Welcome to Heaven" packet yet and Peter was right there next too him with that big happy smile, that excited energy he had, just waiting to talk to him. RIP |
