I talked to my boss about it today. I think I need to take some time off in the coming year.

every year i get 3+weeks to use up. So its not the time that keeps me from doing my dream trip.

That's a good point. Maybe I need to shift my discussions into funding this expedition as part of a bonus package. Spending cash on a cigar dream trip won't sit well with the wife... but if it is a perk from the office, that's a totally different story.
