I made seared Jumbo Scallops with Champagne-Vanilla butter sauce last night. I was afraid of the sauce breaking, but it turned out great. The scallops were really fresh too. I used a Napa sparkler instead of Champange, but it was good nonetheless.

I'm roughing it tonite!! Took one can of Hormel Tamales, threw them in a bowl, added some corn chips, microwaved. Not too bad. Sort of like a Frito Pie.. Next time I will put some mexican blended cheese on them. |

Due to the Superbowl, I ate nothing but appetizers: pigs in a blanket, nachos with dip, crab dip, hangover biscuits, and meatballs.

Tried a new chili recipe from cook's illustrated. Cocoa and lager for flavoring and cornmeal for thickening. I also threw the pot in the oven for the last 90 minutes of cooking. Came out very well.
