This morning: El Salvador Molino de Santa Rita This evening: Panama Finca La Camiseta (day #2) After grinding the Panama, the aroma took me back to the Summer of 1984 when I switched from drinking the commercial swill (MJB, et al) to grinding my own coffee beans. It was Mr. Sweeny at "Sweeny's" that pushed me into a 1/2 lb of fresh roasted beans from Panama and a Krups grinder. Sure do miss the Krups. It passed a few years back for a new Mr. Coffee grinder...

Costa Rica Manantiales - Finca Fidel, roasted 2 days ago to just FC, drip, splash. Very nice, bright sweet cup. From SM, not available any more.

Sulawesi Toarco Jaya micro-lot done in a french roast. Unbelievable. This is the best french roast I've ever had. Notes of licorice - don't look at me like that it really does. My local roaster claims he picks up tobacco notes too. Not so sure but I do think it works really well with a good cigar.

I just drank my first cup of Cold-Brewed coffee. I took the cheapest coffee I could find on the shelf at Big Lahts and dumped a haf pound into a tea pitcher and filled with water and this morning after 14 hours I tested it on the biggest coffee addict in the shop here and he was not un-impressed. Lots of expensive coffee flavors and I could totally control the strength. Nice. I will try it with some Community tonight at home. |
