Luckily I tried it out on some ornaments on the tree, and you are right, at 1.2 the same ornament is tack sharp where I focused and the side is blurry as could be. When set at 2.8, they came out beautiful. We'll definitely keep an eye on it when snapping shots of people. It sure is fun to play around with though!

We got our first DSLR today. I'm really looking forward to really learning how to use this thing the right way. I am trying hard to not use the full Auto setting.

Here's one I took in Mosul, Iraq at the first ever televised MMA fight in that country. I laugh every time I look at the dudes face in the lower left.

there was a meteor shower here on the 4th. I diddnt catch any on "film" but i still have a decent shot from the night.
