Not a lot of people know this but Boston was once the capitol of American beer brewing. In the year 1900, there were over 30 breweries in Boston which was more breweries per capita than any other city in the country at the time.
That is interesting, I am a bit of a beer nerd and I've never heard that before. Do you have any more information, google is not turning anything up for me...

Unfortunately, I don't have any references to give you for this information as it was relayed to me by Jim Koch. There is PLENTY of old Boston Beer antiques around the Sam Adams brewery in Boston.

The one other tid-bit I do have to share is that the last known place of business for the original BBC is the old Heffenrefer brewery in Boston which is the current R&D center for Sam Adams.

I'm at the brewery now and there's an antique beer can here from Boston Beer Co. The can is from "Boston Light Ale" and says established 1828.

Ahh...now when I punch in "Boston Beer Co + 1828" I get some results, before all I was getting was the new Boston Beer Co...

I'm down with Yeungling. Always keep a few of them in the mini-fridge.

I love the regular Yuengling and tried the Chesterfield last night and it seemed slightly skunky to me in both the smell and taste. Yuengling was founded in 1829 so its not really much difference from the Boston Brewers
