And if anyone takes it in a political direction, it's toast.

heres a qoute that goes with the OP
"To take from one, because it is thought that his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, 'the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry, and the fruits acquired by it.'" -- Thomas Jefferson ![]() |

No. It is someone's perspective/opinion.
There are no facts in the statement. That being said, he does present a plausible perspective.

The following quote is not, I believe, overtly political but a statement of the times when said and it is equally true almost 50 years later. "No nation has ever taxed itself into prosperity." President John F. Kennedy when he proposed lowering the maximum tax rates.

O.K.
If the statement is fact, then there really is no reason or room for discussion. Why else would you post this if not to discuss? And where would you expect the discussion to go if not in a political direction?

Perhaps to serve as a reminder of a fact, much like the reminders we get to have a designated driver or wear our seat belts. Though those statements may not leave room for discussion, they still contain very valuable information...regardless on a person's political feelings towards DWI/seatbelt laws.

![]() Quote:
But posting a reminder in a public forum (whether fact or opinion) will lead to discussion. And here is a fact. I initially felt this thread was started as a political statement. However, I felt that a reminder to all might keep it from becoming a political discussion and ultimately getting shut down. Proof that no good deed goes unpunished.
