Spiders are a minor sideline for me. My arachnid specialist colleagues pretty much have that market covered, so I rarely dabble in their field. I just get to hear a lot about what they're doing at the biotoxicology conferences. Venom work is a small enough field that it's a perpetual clusterf*ck between the marine biologists, the bug people and the snake people. And you should see us party when we all get together for a world summit.
