I had a long distance for mine too, but I just moved the whole damn router. It may help a bit, but there is still some inherant lag everytime I play and mine is 4 feet from my router and wired to it.

My problems with the wireless connection started with Gears of War:I and when I wired it it got better. All I ever play is first-person-shooters, so I hate lag.
