Is a Xikar really worth it?

Got the new CI catalog yesterday with a bunch of deals on Colibri cutters similar in design to the Xi2. Two questions:
1. Does Xikar own a patent on the Xi2's design?
2. How does Colibri's warranty/CS stack up against Palio and Xikar?
I still think Palio should introduce a metal version of their cutter. Titanium, maybe...
