Why does the initial have to be 48? Is that a AFSC thing? I know plenty of folks that did first tour overseas. Shaw is great if you love the outdoors. When I left in 06 base housing still sucked and alot of it was being torn down. Sumter county is no gem. But Myrtle Beach, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Savanah are all relatively close. Columbia is pretty decent as well.

also, I've been to about 12 countries outside of the US, so while I appreciate travel, the air force isn't my only ticket to other places.

But realistically, I don't know if the AF is going to happen. Every time I submit "final" paperwork there is an additional delay, and then another and another. My final paperwork should have been submitted 2 weeks ago, now it'll be no sooner than later this week. I graduate in 7 weeks and I need a job ASAP


So we'll see. I want to serve, but if the whole job is anything like the recruitment process then no thanks, f'n ridiculous
