Default Re: When did you first 'notice' cigars?

My Dad and Great Grandfather always smoked them. My Dad went down the slope when ever the Partagas 150's came out. I remember him coming home after a cigar event and had a box, it was like El Santa had brought him a red rider bb gun. Shortly after that he went from a cabinet humidor coffee table deal to having a whole closet installed into the wall in the den. As a kid I would look and look through CI catalogs and what ever else came trying to figure out what was so cool about those darn cigars (other then the occasional bare brested chich in C.A). Once or twice as a kid I grabbed one from his stash and tried smoking it, Man! what a waste! I do remember it was a Punch (NC). I started smoking after I joined the Navy and have on occasion smoked a 150 with him....Now I get it!
BTW he bought that box of 50 for 120$ which was a SUPER premium back then.
