Roastmasters.com and sweet marias are two places I highly recommend for green beans. For roasted beans I posted a link earlier in this thread that has most of the high end specialty roasters. One I really like when I buy roasted beans is redbird http://http://redbirdcoffee.com/ With a 5 lb order shipping is free and I am a advocate of freezing beans to preserve them. http://www.thecaptainscoffee.com/ is a nice little shop in Kernersville,N.C. run by two very nice folks. They have some excellent coffee, and good prices. Denny is all about customer service, and he included a sample with my order that I did not expect. He will be getting new items as the season goes along,I recommend them highly.......

I have ordered once from GenX & was very happy with their service... They asked me to confirm the contents of my order via email & generously sent an extra pound for this 'inconvenience'. I will definitely order again... Make sure to sign up to receive their email discounts.

Re: Places to buy coffee online
I just placed an order with a shop a friend told me about in Morrisville,NC called Muddy Dog coffee. They also will sell you green beans if you request them.
They have a few types of beans that you will not find elsewhere,I have requested the list and will post it.The one that caught my eye is a Nicaragua Limoncillo Pacamara peaberry, the description lists notes of lemongrass, pecans and mulling spices,I have to try this!! http://muddydogcoffee.com/coffee/welcome.php |

In all of my coffee travels, that has to be the biggest ripoff I've ever seen. $75 a lb for "hand crafted" pan roasted cofffee? WTF? |

Re: Places to buy coffee online
It hasn't been major, but I've noticed green bean prices have risen lately.
I've been sticking with CCM coffee out of Tampa and love their Costa Rica Hard Bean as well as the Sumatra. I've been generally paying $25 for 5 pounds of beans and $9 for shipping, so I'm averaging 7 bucks per pound of some great stuff that I've gotten comfortable roasting. Best of all, after if I order early enough in the day, it's on my porch the next afternoon after a 60 mile trip. I might see about stopping by to check the place out the next time I head out to the Gulf coast.

Re: Places to buy coffee online
I ordered a sampler pack from Ravens Brew.. I feel I am spending so much at the crap coffee.. from the grocery store. Online, not much better as I see.
This is my first time ordering online. I am going to start researching roasting my own. |

Re: Places to buy coffee online
I gave up with ordering online. With shipping it ends up being more cost than I think it's worth for me. I suppose if you live somewhere where it's not so easy to get decent to excellent beans it makes sense.

Re: Places to buy coffee online
I used my last sampler bag that I got from Ravens Brew. Stupid me, I didn't care to make notes on which ones I like. So, After 6 samplers, I have no clue what to re-order if I do.

Hey Garry, This place has great beans and if you buy any roaster they give you lbs of green coffee beans FREE! yes FREE! I just purchased the FreshRoast SR-500 and got 4lbs of bean free. Justin why not roast your own beans-- awesome coffee cheaper prices. |
