AP Queens, NY

Despite the struggles in the banking industry, the Mets will still keep Citi Field as the name of their ballpark. Mainly because they're hoping they can get a bailout for their bullpen.
And, despite their troubles, Officials for the New York Mets said season ticket sales are doing well. Especially popular are the new "first six innings" and "April through August" plans.

Wow, pretty big talk from a Phillie fan, when you consider they played in NO World Series from 1915 to 1950, did not WIN one until 1980, and has won only ONE more since then . . . making their ring total the same as the Mets.

I just watched Moneyball the other night. I think the Mets should watch it and take some notes.

Are you suggesting they sign Jonah Hill?

He's skinny now!

Would that also mean Philip Seymour Hoffman as manager? Hell, he likely couldn't do much worse than The Sage, Jerry Manuel.

I should have mentioned, the character played by Jonah hill is supposed to be Paul DePodesta.
He didn't care for the way he was being portrayed and asked them not to use his name.
DePodesta is currently vice president of player development and scouting for the New York Mets.
I don't think he needs to see the movie!

I actually think they want to hire Jonah Hill for second base. Got to be better than Murphy, no?

You mean to PLAY second base, or to BE second base?

My mother in law grew up down the street from Shea. So, last night, she says, "Hey, I saw that John Franco made it to the Hall of Fame."

So, I said, "Well, the Mets Hall of Fame." She said, "Oh" in the familiar tone that meant, "that's not very difficult."

Mets signed infielder Matt Tuiasosopo to a Minor League contract. Once Seattles #1 prospect...another can't miss for the Mets.

Didn't they move the fences in a bit? That ought to cut down on triples . . . and pulled hammies.

True...but that benfits both teams, not only my Mets.
