What a beauty! The steaks look great, too. I'm sure you all had a great day.

I would LOVE that... could probably talk the wife into it, too. She has never been west of the Mississippi. Have to begin pondering this...

Congrats on the new grill, I have always really liked that model. The problem I have with most charcoal grills is the need for an extra table to put stuff on and this one takes care of that and has storage underneath, perfect IMO |

D, When I am doing steaks on mine I have a big coffee can with both ends cut out that I put right in the center of the bottom of the kettle. Then I set the charcoal grate on top of the can. That way your charcoal is only a few inches away from the steaks and you can sear the heck out of them. Give it a try sometime. |

Good idea. The adjustable coal height was great on my (RIP) Smokin' Pro. Have you ever put the steaks directly on the hot coals for like 10 seconds a side and then cook regularly or indirect?

I have seen that done for skirt steak for fajitas, it looked awesome, just make sure you are using hardwood charcoal

Indeed. You can even do it before the charcoal point by putting the steaks on the burning log.
