Can't you get a new power supply online? It probably just plugs in and snaps together.

I would like to do that I saw the power boards on ebay for $99 but I am not sure this would fix the problem if it dosent I would be stuck with a $99 board

I would give the board thing a shot worse comes to worse you buy it and sell it back on eBay. You'll loss less than $20 tops.
