Another vote on the Calphalon. Wife wanted it, we both like it and no problems running through the dishwasher that I have noticed.

Calphalon is good everyday cookware. But depending on the type of dishes you cook you may want a 12" Stainless frying pan(All Clad), its difficult to make pan sauces when cooking with non-stick. You dont get the fond(brown bits) on the bottom when browning meat in a non stick pan. You also might look into getting a 5-8qt cast iron dutch oven for stews. Le Creuset is good but expensive, I recently picked up a 6qt Tramontina Dutch oven from Walmart(online only) and have been very happy. Cost was $49, one fifth of the L.C.
