This is especially important when you get into pipes which cost you more than $4-7 a pipe. When you take apart a pipe while it is still warm, you can damage it - break the tenon, mortice, or even the shank. Breaking any of those parts is not a good thing. ![]()

If the pipe is not warm and has been resting for several days you could take it apart to clean it without damaging it?
