I have the one above as well as this one http://www.amazon.com/Cuban-Crafters...7239077&sr=1-3. They both work great and I have never had any issues with them taking off too much of the cap -- but I also don't rest every cigar against the stop.

Having said that, I have a number of other cutters and I like all of them. The nice thing about the Cuban Crafters cutters is that they work very well and are very resonably priced.
