| Feeling at Home | Do you use a cutter or a punch?

What do you use the most or does it vary greatly on the type of cigar? I bought a punch recently and have only used it once. I think I like the tighter draw more with the punch that with a standard guillotine cutter. But I'm a noob so I don't know what I'm talking about. I know some cigars, like the Drew Estate Java with a rectangular shape would be very difficult to get a clean cut. |

Cutter all day for me. I used to use a punch when I first started, but the tar build up was a big turn-off.

I always use them, except when I don't. Of course... this only happens if I am by myself or with somebody.

Cutter at home and punch for travel; smoke more at home so the cutter gets used more often. |

If your cutter is not giving you a clean cut, you need a better (sharper) cutter. Square press, triangle press, factory press, box press cigars, etc. all cut the same as a round cigar.

I use a cutter about 95% of the time. The exceptions are large ring gauge cigars that seem to be underfilled slightly.

I love the way a punched cigar feels vs a cut, and I haven't really experienced the tar build up that others around here have. That's just personal preference though, I can't really say specifically what I like about it, it's just feel.

I cut 99% of the time. I have a Palio but I have a cheap punch, so you see why i cut more.

I prefer the draw from a cut, but I don't have a decent cutter yet, so I only use it on torpedos. I can't get a clean cut on other shapes. I asked for a xi3 for Christmas |
