Check for leaks. If its a solid top, you can put a flashlight inside and look around the edges for light leaks. You can fix small leaks with blue painters tape. If its a glass top, you can put a dollar bill in several places around the edges, it should not pull out easily. Also, check the glass to be sure its tight and doesnt move around.

As a guy who's still really a Noob, I've gotta say that the above advice was great for me.
I seasoned my humidor, calibrated my hygrometer, and then put the hygrometer into my humidor. After a week or so I was happy with the way that the hygrometer was staying stable, and in went my sticks. Patience is a virtue...but's it's no fun being patient. ![]() |
