Nova gave up 5 ER in 2.2 innings...oh, now he isn't a regular? And we had sorry a$$ Pelfrey on the mound. I don't give a damn if Cashman played SS and the batboy hit cleanup yesterday...the Mets beat the Yankees. You, by now, surely have realized how much I despise the Yankees. It's the uniform we beat and I'll take it anyway I can get it.

I think this is the first season ever that I haven't been excited about opening day. On the bright side, Reyes and the Marlins got beat yesterday in their brand new house!

Our ONLY off season acquisition, Andres Torres, is going on the DL after straining a calf chasing a ball on opening day. Looked like he "played" hurt after he couldn't get to it. Mets call up Nieuwenhuis to play center. Really??? After one game?? As far as I am concerned, Torres can stay on the DL.
