My 9 year old Palio was a little loose as the detent wasn't as stiff as it should be after so many years of service, so I took it into a local B&M and they switched it out for a new one without a problem (after opening and closing mine a couple of times).
My old Palio still got the job done all the way until I exchanged it and it served me well for 9 years and many, many cuts. Here is pic of my 9 yr old Palio a few weeks before I exchanged it, followed by the new Palio. ![]()

Maybe if it were an 8 year warranty I would agree with you, but that lifetime warranty part puts us on different sides of this issue. I certainly appreciate a company that stands directly behind their product...forever. With that being the case, I've been looking at other Palio products (the new lighter, fancier cutter) as I appreciate the quality of their cutter and witnessed 1st hand how they stand behind it. If it was a 3500 dollar cutter I would have it replaced, but hey, $35 dollars for 9 years of use, that's almost free. I rather buy a new one, keep the company in business and showing my appriciation than going thru the hassle of getting it replaced just to save a few bucks

My is that your opinion is a justifiable one and maybe even an honorable one, but for this thread, we get it.
