We dug out a firepit, lined it with some brick that someone was getting rid of. Then, we laid flagstone around it. My son and I spent some time around the firepit last night, actually.
I'll have to find a picture to give you an idea. The pit is about 4 feet in diameter, which is just a little too small if you are going to be throwing pallets on it
