Two talented blokes here - Trouba feeds to Buff - who pops a nifty backhand in the net:

Tough for the Hawks for sure, hope ttey have the depth to stay in the hunt.
Tough for my fantasy team too, my top 2 forwards (Kane and Tyler Seguin) out long term.

Hawks win the first game of the "post-Kane" temporary era. Hope they can play as well against true contenders.

Tough checking game Jets vs Blues. This is going to be a hard slog down the stretch.
Hutch looks sharp, although his first loss in 15 shoot-outs!

The Wild picked off the Preds giving them only their 4th loss at home all year. Have the Avs tonight. It's been one crazy ride this season. Hope it continues into the playoffs. All hail Dubnyk!

Congrats on the 'hawks getting Antoine Vermette, price seemed high but then again, I grabbed him in CC Hockey as soon as I saw the Bs and 'hawks were both going after him, figured he might break out a little more with a new team and change of scenery.

Mason standing on his head with 10 minutes left in the 3rd, nice to see him come back strong, no nice that I cut him a few weeks ago...

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Jets looked awesome today, even chasing Jonathan Quick at the end of the 2nd. Stafford scores his first goal,as a Jet and Myers has a phenomenal game. Great stuff chaps!

Watched the Jets game while herfing, solid 60 mnutes. Good to see Blake Wheeler back.
Hoping Timmonen can solidify the bottom pair on D and Vermette can add some strength up the middle for the Hawks' stretch run.

Damn the Rangers got better quick at the trade deadline. may hurt them in the future though. Yotes are definately going to be good in a few years with all those picks. Hextall pulled a real sweet deal. Man I wish Holmgren was still ruining...uh I mean running that orgs deals...
I still want Snow to stand pat. we did our deadline deals back in Oct. alla Leddy and Boychuk. LGI!!!!! |

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
It has been a while since Milbury left out Organization. otherwise the trade you proposed would have been a posibility. Fortunately Garth Snow is at the Helm and he is doing just fine. Liked the swap of Johnson for neuvirth. Would like a solid defensive defenseman but I like what he has done this year. Definately in contention for the GM of the year. Not saying this as a "homer" but I can't think of a GM who has done more to improve a team this year. BTW: I can't stand Phaneuf. I wouldn't have wanted him for Conacher! |

Still laughing
Then there is this .. Jordan Leopold's 11-year-old daughter Jordyn missed her dad, so she wrote a letter to the Minnesota Wild asking the team to bring him home. While the letter was not the only reason or real reason they grabbed him, it couldn't have hurt. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2...aign=editorial |

Re: NHL '14 - '15 Season Thread
Wish the sharks would have made some big moves in trading away players with actual talent. Right now they remind me of the Flames from a couple of years ago. Good enough to sneak into the playoffs, but that's it. They aren't a complete team, and no way they can compete once things get tighter.
As much as I like him, moving Pavelski would be a good long term move. He isn't THAT young anymore, is a good player under a great contract. Ship him out and see what the return will be. |
