Didn't really notice anything in DC area. Got dark later when we had a thunderstorm, though......

Saw about 5 clear seconds of totality in Charleston. Clouds were light but numerous. Still very beautiful. Kids thought it was cool.

Later reports said some hotels were trying to charge as much as $500 a night, with a minimum three day stay required. A friend booked one early and paid about $300, which was probably "only" double the normal price.

I watched Gas Buddy pages from a couple cities in the totality area, and saw no gouging. Color me surprised.
