"The Most Trusted Man in America".

I remember when he covered the first lunar landing. He had followed the space program with great interest, and often thought of what he would say at that historic moment. He was so overcome with emotion upon seeing it, all he could say was to keep repeating "Oh Boy".

R.I.P. Mr. Cronkite.

The last "great newsman" has passed.

I've long felt that he was the epitome of what a news reporter should be and that no one has yet to reach his level. Walter Cronkite always reported the news. Today all we get are stories colored by "reporters" personal bias and the bias of the people they work for.

Walter Cronkite was also a avid sailor and was at one time a Commodore in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

It's hard for me to think of the sixties and seventies without thinking of Walter Cronkite reporting the major events of the time.

The man had integrity, something that's pretty rare within the broadcast industry.

RIP Walter.

Being born in '83 I never had the chance to watch him deliver the news. But from old footage I will always associate him as the person who told American about the Kennedy assassination.
