I have to say that it was really no problem for me. Visa has reversed the charges and is issuing new numbers all in one phone call.

I have been using a P*yP*l virtual MasterCard. I monitor the purchase, and as soon as it's been completed, I cancel the card so it can't be used for anything else.

You can choose for them to be good for only one purchase, that way you dont have to cancel it..

I just signed up for the poopail card as well. Hopefully my new found confidence won't bankrupt me!
